Coming together for a great cause

bowlingjune2005kidOn behalf of the American Lung Association of Florida – Central Area and those who suffer from Lung disease, I welcome you to participate in this “Fun” Tournament while benefiting a worthy cause!

For 100 years, the American Lung Association has been the leading organization working to prevent all lung disease and promote lung health through research, education and advocacy. Lung disease death rates continue to increase while other leading causes of death have declined. With the generous support of the public, the American Lung Association is “Improving life, one breath at a time.” For more information about the American Lung Association call 1-800-LUNG-USA (1-800-586-4872) or log on to www.lungusa.org.

bowlingjune2005kid2JUST INspire Me was organized to help raise funds to defray the medical expenses of Justin, a fourteen year old boy who has been diagnosed with a plum size tumor on the left posterior frontal lobe of his brain. Due to the tumor’s precarious location on the motor cortex, its removal is extremely dangerous and risky. The removal of the tumor should only be done by the most highly skilled neurosurgeon who has the most advanced technology available to assist with the surgery. In order for the surgery to be performed, funds must be raised to cover those costs of surgery and follow up rehabilitative care that are not covered by insurance. OUR MISSION STATEMENT: Embracing Children. Inspiring Lives.
OUR MISSION: We believe in children-in their promise and in their future. Our mission is to provide effective solutions to build and support healthy families for Florida’s children.

The Children’s Home Society of Florida (CHS) is committed to “helping turn lives around” as it redirects a teen’s troubled life onto a new path of hope, transforms a mother suffering from drug addiction to become a productive parent, provides a safe harbor for a child suffering from abuse and reverses crisis situations so lives are changed for the better.

CHS has a long and rich legacy as Florida’s oldest non-profit provider of services to children and families. In 2004, CHS marked an important milestone by celebrating 102 years of distinguished service and excellence. Established in 1902 as a Jacksonville orphanage, CHS has dramatically expanded its mission as a statewide multi-service agency. Today, CHS provides Florida families with a unique spectrum of social services, including foster care, adoption, child abuse prevention, emergency shelters, group homes, case management and treatment for developmentally disabled children.

CHS is accredited by the National Council on Accreditation of Services for Families and Children and licensed by Florida Department of Children and Families. CHS is a founding member of the Child Welfare League of America, a member of the National Alliance for Children and Families and Co-Founder of the Florida CEO Roundtable for Children.
